Joey came to Cindy's Promise in May 2017. He very quickly stole the hearts of all the volunteers with his gentle nature. When he first arrived, he wasn't quite sure what to make of CP pig residents "Lucy" and "Lola" but over time he learned they weren't going to hurt him. Joey lived amongst all the old grannies who absolutely adored the ground he walked on. He was feeling very good about himself after months of rehab, good feed, supplements and musculoskeletal work. It came as a total shock to the CP team to discover that Joey had suddenly broken his leg in the paddock and had to be humanely euthanised. He was due to leave for his perfect forever home that weekend. This horse was a true gentleman and is dearly missed by everyone, including his herd of grannies.
