Rescue a Racehorse

Outreach Program

Our Rescue a Racehorse Outreach Program is a new initiative for Cindy's Promise.

We have launched a brand new program at Cindy's Promise called 'Rescue a Racehorse Outreach Program' and this important new program will focus on rescuing thrown away, broken down and injured TB and STB horses from sale yards, as well as directly through trainers and owners.

Our goal is to see more ex-racehorses rehabilitated and rehomed into loving new homes......But we need your help.

The team at Cindy's Promise do not support the racing industry but we are always open to working relationships with people in the racing industry to help rehabilitate and rehome retired racehorses.

We take into care both TB and STB horses whether they are directly off the track or have just found themselves in dogger pens, slaughter yards or in neglectful homes - giving them a chance at a new life.
We don't discriminate between young and old, broken down or injured, healthy and just too slow for racing. We also take in ex-broodmares not suitable for breeding any longer.

Many of these horses have suffered bowed tendons, pelvic issues, hoof issues, strained or torn muscles, starvation etc etc and they need anywhere from 12–24 months to recover and rehabilitate which can be a very expensive program. All horses get everything they need including the best feed, supplements, physiotherapists, chiropractors, professional training etc.

Our Rescue a Racehorse Outreach Program is brand new and currently we have just taken in our first horse to officially rehabilitate under this new program.

All ex-racehorses deserve a chance at a new life and our goal is to help as many as funds will allow us to.

I want to thank you all so much for helping support our Rescue a Racehorse Outreach Program and please keep an eye on this page for updates on the horses we rescue in this program that you have helped us make possible.

Please note that each racehorse rescued under this program will be available for sponsorship and you can follow its rehabilitation through until rehoming.
